It is another disgustingly hot day today, one of those days where one finds oneself constantly sweating. I don't think there is anyone that can successfully look good and be sweaty at the same time! I certainly am not feeling particularly attractive at the moment. Oh well... another ice tea by the pool will help some.

This evening I have been invited to a casual garden party and hog roast at the home of a dear friend of mine. I am rather looking forward to it. I think this is an occasion that calls for Madras shorts and deck shoes with a white shirt. Madras shorts are very definitely a preppy Must Have.

The pair I have opted for are not dissimilar to the ones in the picture below and are my favorite shorts without a doubt. I simply love the cheeky, fun image that Madras gives off. They are also supremely comfortable in this weather and, I like to think, quite smart. With a white Oxford Button-Down these will look great.
