The Tom Collins is a classic, refreshing preppy cocktail. Essentially a gin and lemonade, the Tom Collins is perfect for lounging on the boat or out on the balcony on a warm evening.

Now I've never been known as one who says no to a drink, however, today I am feeling somewhat delicate from not an entire evening of not saying no. Alas, I can't seem to do anything about the excessively loud roadworks that seem to have sprung up all over the city for today only, however I might be able to do something about the nausea. Hair of the dog anybody? I'll take one of those!

"Tipsy in Madras"... my weekend summed up in three short words. Oh dear, I rather fear that I might be developing a reputation as a lush! But of course, I am a prep and drinking is a very definite aspect of the preppy lifestyle, in fact significant portions of the bible (that's "The Official Preppy Handbook" not the King James Bible) are dedicated to the sport of drinking.
