The Wedding Crashers is most definitely one of my all-time fave movies and the above quote is one of my favorite lines from the movie. Crab cakes are definitely what Maryland does best.
Why are crab cakes on my mind? I'll tell you why... because I have just noshed down two of the finest crab cakes I've ever eaten. Simply delish - thank you to the chef (my mother).
This is an American dish that has long since been associated with the Chesapeake Bay (particularly Maryland). The cake is made of succulent sweet crab meat, bread crumbs, milk, mayonaisse, eggs, onions, peppers, a dash of tabasco sauce and seasoning. The cake is then fried or broiled and served with a Marie Rose or Thousand Island dressing and a wedge of lemon.
Divine with a glass of Rosé for a late brunch, al fresco on a hot day (how delightfully preppy). Check out our friends at Chesapeake Bay Crab Cakes for their delicious range!
