As I've noted before, preppies like things that are classic, understated, stylish and practical. This applies also to our choice of motor vehicle.

During the halcyon days of the 1980s, the carriage of choice was the Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Wooded panelling, off-road and on-road capabilities (perfect for the spin up to the cottage or down to the beach for a picnic), this beast could carry everything. With space for Mummy, Daddy, Mufty, Chip, Whisky (the Golden Retriever) and Soda (the Black Labrador) the Jeep Grand Wagoneer got everyone there in comfort too.

Being such a classic preppy icon, you may notice these beauties appearing in many of Tommy Hilfiger's recent adverts.

Finding one in good condition these days is proving tricky as this has become something of a collector's icon, however there are rumors circulating of a new version being at planning stage! We do so hope it happens!
