Ray-Ban introduced the iconic Wayfarer sunglasses in the 1950s. They were the first lightweight plastic sunglasses and have since achieved legendary status, often cited as the best-selling style of sunglasses of all time. With legions of preppy fans (including the late JFK) the Wayfarer has rightly earned it's place as a preppy must-have.The simplicity of the design makes these sunglasses suitable for all occasions, be it sport or formal (though I still prefer a metal frame for formal occasions).
